Steven Biegel has been a principal at TFO Architecture since 2005, and
currently leads the MatrixTFO office in Houston Texas.
Steven has many notable federal projects and major project renovations
to his credit, and is widely known in the architectural community for
his leadership abilities and large-scale historic preservation and
adaptive reuse projects. He has 30 years of experience involving
Category 1 National Historic Landmarks. He is an advocate for energy
conservation and sustainable design. He has owned and managed several of
the largest and most successful A/E firms in the Washington, D.C.
region. Formerly, he was Managing Principal in the D.C. office of
Einhorn Yaffee Prescott, Architecture & Engineering P.C., Vice President
of Operations for the DC office of URS Greiner, Vice President & General
Manager of GNM & Associates, and CEO of Lawrence & Lawrence, P.C. He is
the author of a recent book on profitable practice management for
architects and engineers entitled Profit by Design. He is NCARB
Certified and LEED Accredited. From 1980 to 1985, Mr. Biegel served as
Vice President of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), a
Congressionally chartered institution concerned with building science
and new technology.
